Our first challenge at the beginning of this class was to recreate a magazine cover using Adobe Photoshop. When we started using Photoshop it was quite daunting but it was amazing to see how much you could do with this program. I chose the cover on the left to recreate because I thought it was cool and different and I felt like I would be a fun challenge. I liked the black & white colors, the clean lines and overall simplicity of the cover. The hardest part of the whole project was getting a picture of myself that mimiced the original. The pose in the original cover was not a very easy one to copy. Other than that, the rest was smooth sailing from there. As I played around with Photoshop I began to get a grip on the basics and learned some cool tricks as well. The color matching tool I found to be extreamly helpful. I was able to directly copy colors that otherwise would've been less accurate to those of the original.
