the fathers of quantum mechanics. - Scrödinger used math and equations to make changes to Bohr's model.
- He concluded that electrons move in wave like motions instead of straight orbits but still stay at specific distances from the nucleus.
Scrödinger's Atom
- Scrödinger's model depicts the electrons moving in a waves.
- This is shown as a fuzzy "electron cloud" and is often called the cloud model.
- This is the most current model of the atom and hasn't been changed much over the years.
- Today we can actually see atoms with powerful microscopes and have discovered even smaller particles than electrons called Quarks.
